Why do neighbours ...........

have to be SO noisy? Next door started pressure washing patio and worked on it for 4 hours non-stop! Well done him but the dreadful noise did my head in! Stopped at 3pm - lovely peace and quiet, picked book up, read one page then neighbour over the back started mowing his large lawn, then decided to use strimmer for half an hour. Peace for a while but now there is a BBQ going, with music and greasy beefburger smell. I just love sitting in the garden quietly listening to lovely blackbird song, why don't they just relax and enjoy the sunshine? I realise we all have to work hard in our gardens but I just couldn't get away from the constant noise today.

How inconsiderate of your neighbours - maybe you could ask them to put silencers on their garden electrical equipment?

They most probably work during the week so weekends are the only time they can carry out these tasks

Daffy i wonder how the grandparents can listen to it never mind inflict it on the neighbours..... Im sure things like that lasted a day in my house before they were swiped & binned LOL xx

Well everyone ... after reading everything you all have to put with I really must count my blessings, I would hate to suffer all the swearing and racket you have all mentioned, it must be dreadful. Most of our neighbours are middle aged or older people, at least we don't have noisy children running riot and we only only one dog nearby who barks a bit. We get on well with the neighbours, I think they just don't realise the noise these things like pressure washers, strimmers etc can make, when used for hours on end. The only reason i mentioned it was just that I would have loved a little bit of peace and quiet in the rare sunshine with my book, but it was not to be. We'll see what tomorrow brings! :)
