plastic airport bags for liquids 100ml or under

Does anyone know where you can buy these from? I have seen them somewhere, been to most places today and cannot find them anywhere. I obviously dont want to have to buy one at the airport.

Free in Belfast, well, Aldergrove anyway but I'm not so sure about George Best International.

Great idea - if you do have anything dangerous the plastic bag renders it futile and invalid. I feel so much safer knowing they are there.

This from Heathrow doesn't specify 5 items but each item must be less than 100 ml, and all must fit into a sealed 8 ins x 8 ins plastic clear bag (which isn't very big) http://www.heathrowai...ecurity/hand-baggage/

The bags you want are the small resealable food and freezer bags. Available in all supermarkets including Asda, Tesco and Sainsburys. I have never had a problem either buying these bags or using them. I usually take an extra one or two for on the way back.

With ryanair you are allowed a maximum of 1 litre of " liquids" make up , shampoo conditioner , foundation etc , doesnt matter how many " ziplock " type bags you have , they concentrate on the volume

I've just looked at Ryanair's guidelines and it does not state 5 items. We are not taking any other luggage or I would be putting most of stuff in suitcase. We will be on our own in a hotel for 4 nights so got to make do then will be going on to see friends out there so can then use bigger products that left there before.

nextqueen, it's simple.

If you want to take all that stuff, and be sure of taking it and not having it confiscated, you'll need to put a case in the hold.

If you only want to take hand luggage, you have to accept the strict limits and make do with less or buy what you need on arrival - or, alternatively, take a risk and you may lose your stuff ...

ellipsis, hear hear - I have been at the gate at airports recently and the crew have taken bags off people because they're too big/too heavy, and charged them £50 to put the bags in the hold. If your handbag's in there too, you're stuffed.

If your hand-luggage is near the limit, try taking out any items of clothing and wear them, rather than pay their ridiculous fine. Also, we find that cagoul-type jackets with large pockets can take little extras like a paperback book or anything else that won't fit in the case. Have a good holiday and don't fret too much!

Sorry to sound blunt but am on mobile. Rule is 1 ltr of liquids in containers of 100ml or less. Thats 10 x 100 ml. Set by governments and not airline. Mascara lipstick lipsyl need not go in bag. Just lipgloss creams gels etc. Sandwich or ziploc fine

I was told that if anything had been liquid during the manufacture process, eg lipstick, then it has to go into the plastic bag. When I was at Edinburgh airport waiting to board, someone had to stuff their dutyfree into their luggage as well, otherwise they would have had to pay for hold luggage. He had a real job to get everything into his holdall. I had a 5" size handbag, very small and thin hanging on a strap round my neck, and that had to come off as well, and be put into hand luggage.
Don't forget that the Ryanair baggage allowance is smaller in size than Easyjet, and it must fit into the luggage measuring rack, not sticking out the top either.

What a lot of fuss , I just can't see the point in it all , yet again 'security' given as a reason to cause maximum chaos . Just like the Olympics were spectators can not take even water into the venues due to 'security' more like profit for the sponsors.
I really could not see the point of the ruling mentioned on AB a few days ago where you can not take disposable razors , male or female version, through security but you can buy them 'air side' , once you are through security !what possible point is there in that other than forcing you to pay way over the top in the airport shop ? I can buy 10 disposable razors for £1 in the £ shop , how much are they air side ?

There's nothing to say you can't take disposable razors through security. The rules are regarding liquids. You can take them on an aircraft.

There was a question here a few days back and the answer was that disposable razors could not be taken through security but you could buy them at the Boots shop within the airside area of the airport after passing security . I thought at the time it was stupid , prehaps its wrong !

Nextqueen, I'm not sure if you've taken this on board (pardon the pun) but your question is irrelevant if the 'liquids' are put into your checked luggage unless for some reason you need more than 100ml of stuff with you in the plane.
