using 'media connect' and an xbox 360 ?

Im trying to stream audio from my pc to the 360 but my 360 cant see my pc ! pc can see the console fine tho and media connect is runing correctly.my 360 is connected to the same router as the pc so does that mean that they should be able to see each other ?

anyone know what i may be doing wrong ? thx

Installing .NET Framework 1.1 on your computer (available at windows update) seems to be sorting the problem for most people.

thanks for the answer but after a bit more trawling around i found that certain ports needed to be opened in the firewall to make it connect.
