buddleah and compost bins
Hello .My buddleah bush is absolutely thriving bot I have only seen one butterfly on it .When my foxgloves were in flower thet were teaming with bees and I thought I woud see more butterflies .Any answers ,please .Also ,cac I put orange peel banana skins and kiwi fruit peel in the compost bin ?One of my neighbours said that I could as long as Icut them up in small pieces but Iam not so sure.Thanks for any imformation

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Yes of course you can - I don't cut them up small, I just lob everything of fruit and veg waste in our compost bin, along with teabags, soft garden waste, toilet roll insides and egg boxes, and we've never ever had a rat. It's protein you mustn't put in the bin (meat etc), that does attract predators. Fruit peelings etc are only "vegetable matter" so of course they can go in.
There is a shortage of butterflies this year, and bees are having a hard time - perhaps that's in.
