ALL THE BELLS
15 Answers
Did you or your home town take part in this at 8.12am today? I nearly missed seeing it on BBC Breakfast as had only heard about it once or twice and only switched the news on a 8.10am and had forgotten about the event. What a pity it wasn't advertised more ............ I couldn't hear our town's church bells ringing, did your town or city (or you) take part? I think it was a lovely idea. :)

Big Ben chimed non-stop for 3 mins, they filmed it. They showed people taking part all over the country, I felt quite out of it, I should have got up and rung my door bell! :) I switched over to Daybreak on ITV and they didn't cover it at all, only mentioned it briefly after the event - I wonder why they chose not to? when they were doing Olympic topics all the programme.
Couldn't understand why both our adjoining parishes had weddings at the same time, and so early. I was even wondering whether it was legal! I'm right next door to one church, and only sleepily realised the truth after looking out to a complete absence of anyone's relatives trying to look as though they liked one another.
