I have a Sony 350 ereader. Can I download books meant for Kindle,or do I need a program like Calibre to translate them into something my Sony can handle? (epub)

I ask because-as usual-many ebooks seem to be cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else.

Not if the ebook has DRM protection, and that is very probable.

There are illegal ways of stripping DRM, I believe.
