Volleyball

I have been enjoying the Volleyball at London 2012. My question is; Why is there always one team member wearing a different colour of shirt than his/hers teammates. Last night the GB Womens team had white jerseys on,except for one girl who was wearin a blue jersey.
What is the meaning of this different coulour shirt?.
