I've decided that i need to get a cctv system and was advised to get this

http://www.maplin.co....t-phone-access-392998

I have no tech knowledge so don't know whether this is good, what it's pros and cons are or whether there is something for a better price on the market.

Would you say this is a good buy?

Bend10. I have a Voltek cctv system and it's fantastic. The 1st system i had from voltek lasted 14yrs and it was still going strong but looked tired. This new one is a 7inch LCD monitor and is brill. Try www.voltek.co.uk

Thanks rosiew but which is the one that you have and how is the live video viewed on your computer and mobile phone?

One more thing, do you get a text/email once it's viewed movement to alert you?
Oh sorry, i have mis-understood you. The Voltek is a stand alone wireless unit which you put into any room in your house and the camera is situated outside the front door. When anyone comes down your path, the LCD monitor comes on with a shrill to shows who is at the door.
I purchased a 1TB storage options system and connected it to a small flat screen television, I have just returned from holiday and we have been able to watch what was going on at home from the 4 cameras via our Samsung phones and Samsung tablets, and the Storage Options helpline is fantastic, and they will talk you through the set up, I am not very technically minded so I allowed him to connect to my system to set it up for me and I didn't need to do anything, hope this helps, John
