claim on ownership of house
2 Answers
I paid to buy my ex girlfriends council house i also paid all the legal fees, what i did not do was to make her sign a document as a commitment to pay the money back some 50,000. The property is now worth 150,000. Can I put a legal charge on the property in the event that she tries to sell it. I have all the evidence of the payment, she though holds the deeds in her name, after all she was the sitting tenant.

Ring you local solicitor & ask if they do 0.5hours of free legal advise - most do & explain the situation to them. As you have proof of payment you def have a case. Have a look on www.Landregistry.gov.uk and they will even send you the forms for you to fill in. Good luck & hope you get it sorted! My ex is trying to have the house repossessed that I have got a charge against so he doesn't have to pay me - it's all good fun isn't it!!
