I have done as you requested and the 'No Proxy' is selected, but I still can only get the virgin address bar to open, the rest of the screen shows the wallpaper with my programme icons on.
I am answering this via my Microsoft internet explorer.
Would it be an idea to remove Firefox and re-install it, or do you suggest removing Firefox as my browser and using a less troublsome browser?
I am not a techie, so it is reasonable that I am unable to comprehend fully your problem. Also, I cannot understand why you have started another thread on this matter.
Hopefully Chuck will respond further.
In the meanwhile, if you have an address bar in Firefox, are you not able to 'pump-in' AB and then bookmark it for further use?; or even, as I have done, install your 'Profile Page' as a desktop icon.
I am pleased oag that you are once again able to use Firefox; which is my favourite Browser. I know that some of AB Techies have a preference for Google Chrome, but I am staying with FF. I am not sure what Chuck is mostly using...It would be interesting to know.!
I have now deleted Firefox 9.0.1 and installed Firefox 14.0.1
It has stated that some of my add-ons are now incomparable and therefore disabled will it be safe to remove these?
The trouble is that some are labelled (disabled) and one is given the option of removing them, whereas others are also labelled (disabled) but there is no option to 'Remove' the said disabled add-on.
Hi again aog....Your FF was well out of date and, if you have a lot of 'add-ons', I am not surprised that you have had problems.
In my opinion, you can get rid if anything which is surplus to requirements in a computer; without upsetting anything else. Personally, I would clear-out any add-ons which are no longer operative or are surplus to your present requirements.
