The ..ise/ize argument is interesting, when I was a kid we were always taught ~ize is English, ~ise is US - it's gone the other way now, the spellcheck for US is always ~ize.
Ok, I get it, I'm wrong...
Someone on the tv Olympic coverage just said it with a 'g' and that's what started the debate in our house.

Ah, interesting! I still use ise because I think it looks better, just as I prefer focused over focussed even though (apparently) the single s is more common in the US.
Two men in a bar arguing over the pronunciation of the word Hawaii.
No. 1 says, "It's Hawaii. With a W".
No. 2 says, "It's Havaii. With a V."
They agree to ask another man in the bar what the correct sound should be.
"Havaii." He replies.
"Thanks very much,"says one of the men.
"You're velcome." comes the reply.
