I saw the post asking for Daily Mail readers ( http://www.theanswerb.../Question1157367.html ) and thought that while we are "at it" the left wing gangsters might also make a public confession.

I'll happily own up to being left wing,so add another to your list johnysid
Johhnysid, no wonder I suspect you definition of Left and Left wing is 'anyone who doesn't agree with me'.(I note that, according to you, I am of the left) I am a Conservative , have never voted anything else in general or by- elections, and my (now ex) wife is and was an A list Conservative Parliamentary candidate. (Her politics are as mine).

You may regard Churchill as left wing, for all we know. The NHS came in under a Labour government. Can't think that effectively nationalising a whole health service isn't a leftish thing to do, whether or not Churchill acquiesced in that. In that case, do you regard nationalising steel, coal, and the railways as Marxist or post-Marxist ? The term post-Marxist seems to be no more than your term of general dislike for anything.

Fredpuli.. mea culpa. My list was wrong.

It is amusing that I get accused of being fascist for doing to postmarxist types what they would do to those on the right of centre who read the Daily Mail without a second thought.

I was rather hoping that some Postmarxist would regale us with the cultural aspect of postmarxism you know:

"I saw Mark Bridgesteel at the comedy club, he was sooo funny, compared the Tokyo metro with our slave ships! We are dreadful to have those ships though, those awful Tories!"
Ah, but perhaps you don't know how post-Marxist the Conservative Party is, Johnny. My wife was asked by a selection committee what her greatest embarrassment was. She answered " Finding I'm to the left of Tony Blair". She got selected.
And the Tory party supports compulsory education in state schools, thinks heavy progressive or graduated income tax is all right, is against child labour, believes central control of credit by means of a national bank is good...how much more of the Manifesto of the Communist Party's ten key points do you want ? LOL
You may have missed the boat; the Western world already has provisions and practices which were once regarded as dangerously socialist but which we now regard as normal and correct. And the US is gradually catching up with the rest of us. We are all post-Marxists now.
Question Author
No, we are not all postmarxists now. However, the claim that anything good for the ordinary people comes from socialist parties is indeed socialist and postmarxist but we both know that most of the radical changes in the UK over the past 2 centuries that helped ordinary people came from the Liberals, may they rest in peace.

I am happy to put you back in the list of postmarxists at your request, after all Blunt and the Cambridge subversives were pillars of the establishment.
See? Told you. When we Conservatives are post-Marxist, the Labour Party has always been, and the Lib Dems are a leftish form of the Tories, the game is up !
