MM and KM Links August 2012 Week [1]

A new month, a new setter and a clean slate.
Anyone can join in. The aim is to guess what 4 words have been chosen to be paired with 4 published challenge words. Each pairing makes either a new word or a well known phrase (not a person's name).

The KM Game, based on the Daily Telegraph GK crosswords, starts early Saturday morning in Q&P overseen by Seekeerz. Play anytime over the weekend.

The other game is the MM version that one of our own players sets. This month the challenge is being set by none other than the same Seekeerz.
Seekeerz has very kindly offered to give me a month's break from all duties apart from the Friday evening 'Shrubbery' post. She will therefore launch the game at 9am (our time) in Q&P with an introduction 15 minutes earlier. She will also score the game AND MAYBE post the results on Sunday, MAYBE Monday.
You see, Seekeerz lives on that bit of the planet that we like to refer to as Oz, where the sun doesn't follow the same timetable, so just when you will be expecting the results (7pm our time Sunday) it will be 4am her time. Please be patient and she will do the sums and post the points once she wakes up. If you can't stay up that long, then don't worry, they will still be there in the morning.

The shrubbery is now open but I am not expecting many visitors tonight as I know several of you are taking holidays just now and others are otherwise engaged/disabled/disposed just now.

Enjoy your well-deserved break for the next few weekends, Gen2; hope the sun shines on your photography. Personally I'm finding it difficult to move away from the TV/ BBC sport website, however tempting the weather outside. What a performance in the other Stratford! (I'm from Warwickshire).

OK Needawin (& Strix), I promise I'll go on a 'Plain English' training course before next weekend. No words of more than 3 syllables, no subjunctive clauses etc etc.

Just look in to Q & P at 8:45 tomorrow morning.

Sorry I missed you all last night. I was watching Stockport FC in a friendly against Wigan. Well what else are Friday nights for? :-)
I only went has hubby had tickets and nobody to go with him. It wasn't too bad.

This thread is the shrubbery. It was given that name by Crofter many years ago.
It is where players used to meet up for R & R before the big games in the morning.

Sadly it is now getting rather neglected and overgrown.
