mind you I got back to 1430 back in the early 1990s before computers took over the subject, spent alot of time in more recent years putting the meat on the bones of it.

Knowing my parents is bad enough, going back further is an abhorrent thought.

1760 Dotty, at the time, I did not have the time, but now I will hopefully go further. from what I've got my Grandfathers line were very wealthy farmers in Trawsfynedd N.Wales.

My great Uncle did many years ago. Traced back to the 1600's.

1644 on one side, can't get back beyond my great grandfather on the other!!! Such is genealogy!

My SIL's done it for both her and our family, she's gone back about three centuries so far, some of the lines just taper off as far as information's concerned.

Years ago my mother got back to 1520 but stopped after that because on doing more research she was told that one of the family was shipwrecked with some others and the Cabin Boy went missing and it was thought he might have been eaten??

1620's on my fathers side, gave up then for some reason.
