I am posting early this week as I really need some inspiration. I don't want to do a roast dinner and don't want to cook fillet steak or rack of lamb as I have done those recently.

What's on your menu today and what do you suggest I whip up for lunch?

I had some lovely garlic buttered carrots and samphire last night, so would like to do those as a side.

In my book it's got to be fish with the, lemon sole or sea bass with a lemon and tarragon butter sauce.
^^^ ...fish with the samphire...
Roasted scallops - with a lemon-garlic-butter sauce (drop the garlic and use chilli as an alternative if you feel there is too much aioli with the carrots).
I've never tried samphire. Would love to but have never seen it for sale.

We are having slow roast pork...like FG. With roast spuds, carrots, sugar snap peas and cabbage.
Any crackling ummmm ( gawd I love that ).
Yep...lots :-)

We have a massive joint as they are half price at Morrisons. I think I'm going to have to cut it into 4 or maybe even 5.
Righto ummmm, I may have to get in the car and have a ride up to Morrissons.
Mmmm, roast pork.

We're having roast chicken, new potatoes, garlicky chard, french beans with parmesan, and runner beans with lemon and shallots, will make a thin pesto or a sauce vierge to go with it.

Probably some berries with cream afterwards.
I don't know, as a one armed man at the moment I'm relient on Trish taking me some where nice, come to that I've got to rely on her cutting what ever we get into bite size pieces as well.
What have you done, Paddy?
Have you got your arm in a sling, Paddy.?
Sorry to be so late answering but we've had visitors. I broke my right arm last Friday just below the head of the Humerus in a place where they can't Pot it so it's just in a cuff sling and very uncomfortable it is. Anyway we're off out for a while but still no Idea where we'll end up.

You have to try samphire, Ummmm!

I've decided... I can't be arsed to cook.
Samphire is gorgeous :+)

Have given due consideration to many gourmet lunch options ... and opened a bottle of beer & some crsips instead ...
Jump on your bike Dave, you can trim the beans while I open a bottle........
Thunderbolts & Lightning - very, very frightning here

Junior Dog now sitting on my lap - makes typing a bit of a lottery
Roast beef (No yorkshires, forgot to buy flour) peas and roast spuds.
Was supposed to be for 4 but will now have to stretch to 5. Shouldn't be a problem.
It's tiddling down here nicely again.

NoM, Paddy fell and broke his good arm just below the humerous. :-(
Thunderbolts and lightning very very frightening here now as well, dave !
Well my pulled pork was gorgeous and the crackling was awesome :-)
Ummmm our local fishmonger sells samphire as does our local Morrisons. Morrisons don't keep it by the fish though, they keep it by the asparagus. xx
