I'm hoping somebody ie Elvis, Owdhammer, Stokemaverick MAY be able to id the race-course or the trainer or jockey (or even the horse)! I know it's an old photo and a bit of a long shot, but you never know:-)

Not much to go on, sorry can't help
From the dress you can narrow it down to between about 1925 to immediately the war, so that narrow it down considerably. You might be best off identifying the colours the jockey is wearing and working backwards from there, I'll have a go for you later and see what I can find but I'm busy just now.

Thanks for your replies...

Howard, had a go but tineye couldn't find anything.
Elvis, I said it was a longshot. Some of the buildings at Bangor on Dee STILL look like that!
Nox, I agree about the colours. I might ask The Racing Post. I hope you discover something later. Meanwhile I'll have a trawl too.
looks like they didn't wear 'silks' cos it seems to be a knitted top! including the cross.
Looks like a National Hunt meeting in the winter.
Question Author
I'd say definitley National Hunt.
could it be Chester?
Question Author
Don't think so Dotty. I'm pretty certain it's a National Hunt meeting.
Could it be a point-to-point?
Question Author
Yes I think point to point's a possibility.
