I am taking a couple of weeks to drive around Ireland. Having never been before, are there any places, sights, restaurants, pubs etc off the beaten track I should not miss ??

Hi Davidanthony. Brother is just back from Sneem and says Sacre Coure is better for food than the Blue Bull but I love the BB for music nights but a Euro at each will be appreciated!
Also check out Sneem House in town for special nights. Things in Ireland are often not advertised...turn up and something happens!
Don`t miss Derrynane House though.

Have a great time. x

gness, is your uncle Steve Casy by any chance ?

Gness. I read several comments about the food / service/ staff in the Blue Bull, and all bad !!, - so you alternative recommendation could well be better.

Top end of the market I admit - but superb - almost OTT in décor but Mary Bowe pulls it off - lovely location 60 miles south of Dublin and exquisite food - think they have their 1 star Michelin now. Great breakfasts too - and gardens.

Surprisingly kid friendly if that is important.

The National Craft Centre in Kilkenny is superb too

Thanx Headwreck. I will be in Kilkenny on 13 Sept probably in a B&B in College Road for the night after enjoying some local craic in the best pub in Kilkenny - what is it !?!?!
How did you know about the uncle David.

Last year the Blue Bull was great so new chef maybe?

Loads of great eating places in Sneem and the new hotel is lovely.

Brother thinks the new buildings are ruining the place. Suppose some dynamite in your luggage is our of the question?
Question Author
Headwreck. WHat about the Rafter Demsey or the Dempsey Rafter for B&B being in the middle of town, - and of course the craic ?
