I've just had a bit of a shock - a mouse (live, not computer!) has just run along my desk behind my computer moniter and stopped, and observed me closely for a good 20 seconds! My OH said that the lodger-cat from a few doors down had been in today with a mouse, but we presumed that the cat had eaten it! I hope that it's not looking for a new home! Incidentally, please reassure me that house mice have long tails - I would seriously freak out if I thought that it was a young rat!!
I'm sure they do Isla ............ poor little mouse, bet it was pleased to escaped being pussy cat's dinner! How are you going to catch it? We use a humane trap in our shed, where a trapdoor falls behind the mouse as it enters the box type trap and it sits there happily munching on the cheese while we take it to a new home at the end of the garden.
I have a humane trap that I will set, but frankly it could be anywhere now! - mind you, if it goes into the hall it'll have a nasty shock, as Isla's sleeping there - and I think that she would wake up if she sensed it!
No, I haven't caught it yet, I've only just got in and have had Isla with me all day, so I probably won't know if it is still here util later on tonight - I have a little bit of chocolate to bait the humane trap with, and we shall see what happens! (what on earth did someone say that had to have the answer removed? it's a fairly innofensive question, I thought?)
If it is a house mouse, when you have caught it put trap into a box and drive it at least a mile away. Have a google you will see that if you just let it go outside it is likely to be back very soon.
