How many litres of water.....
10 Answers
How many litres of water make up a cubic metre? We've got a water meter and the bill shows how many cubic metres we've used. If we want to try to lower our consumption, I thought it would be helpful to know the litres that make it up! I've a fair idea of how many litres are used in most household tasks.

Hi Hard@it,
We've had a meter since 2004 and with only two of us in the house we've saved a lot on the old system. We're with Wessex Water and on the bill that we've just had, the prices are as follows..
Water supply 148.25p per cubic meter
Sewerage services 141.01p per cubic meter
The volume for both the water and the sewerage is always the same, but there is a 5% credit for water not returned to the sewer which is taken off that charge.
If you are with another water company, prices will vary.
We reckon that we are now saving something in the region of 200 a year. I've yet to find anyone who is not gaining by having a meter, even the family over the road from us with three children say it is cheaper for them. We've never deliberately set out to use less, so it just shows how we were being ripped off for our previous usage!
Hope this and Brooksy's answer help.
