Trisha feeling off colour

I think my cat Trisha is feeling a bit off colour, she keeps sleeping and not going out as much, just now, after being in all night, she just walked in front of me a flopped down on the floor lying on her side and gave a dull mew. Not like her, she's walked away now because I picked her up to have a look at her. she is cleaning herself ok, but not quite as white as normal. Looks like maybe she has rolled in some oil too, maybe that's upset her stomach? she's not off her food, but she's not been crying to be fed like she does normally.

was it Trisha or lizzie that went missing ???...she may have had a mousy treat or similar or licked the oil giving icky tummy ??

Cats do have off days, dotty - ours sometimes have a day when they sleep and don't want to eat. If you're worried, ring your emergency vet - the number should be on your normal vet's answerphone message.

No it was Lizzie that went missing, I know she's a beggar for catching birds and mice, the other day I heard a rattling sound and thought she'd run in with a set of keys in her mouth but when I put the light on in the kitchen it was a bloody mouse in a mouse trap she'd dragged in!

that could be the reason then...not such a tasty treat in her tummy..I am sure she will perk up later !!

LOL @ the mouse trap, that's brilliant! Keep an eye on her, you can always take her to the very tomorrow if she's not OK - but ring them if you are worried.

it was horrible, there was a huge piece of white cheese on it, the mouse had that in it's mouth and the trap had sprung on it and trapped it's head, yuk! the rattling was the metal bit of the trap clattering on the floor! god knows where she'd found it, maybe in someone's shed. i think someone close by has rabbits and of course they attract mice/rats.

"Of course they attract mice and rats". I've had pet rabbits many times, and they MOST DEFINITELY did not attract mice and rats. What the hell are you talking about ???

it might be the cheese the mouse had was mouldy and that has unsettled ehr stomach, try and make sure she drinks plenty of water fingers crossed she perks up soon. I know chickens attract rats as our neighbours have them and we all have a bad rat problem!

sorry I was basing the comment on rabbits attracting mice and rats on growing up on a farm, where mice and rats with no qualms about stepping into a rabbit hutch to nick the food just did it, obviously in more domesticated rabbit hutches mice and rats wouldn't dare invade the space. :)

Licking the oil has probably given her an upset tummy,or maybe she's just feeling the heat?
