George Michael was okay but thought the song choice could've been better.

I'm not sure Elton really did have the global impact of people like Bowie, the Beatles, the Who; or the specifically London significance of the Kinks or Madness. Or the contemporary popularity of Jessie J.

He was huge in the US in the 1970s, but he did have the best selling single ever in the UK with Candle in the Wind and sold far more records worldwide than The Who I'm sure. He is certainly more well known worldwide than Russell Brand!

Elton's big in Vegas; but I suspect the Who have refreshed parts of the world he has not. Besides, the Who were probably there because of what they were all saying about inspiring a new generation.

Brand's been to Hollywood; but I'm not sure what he was doing in the show last night. Ronnie Barker unavailable, no doubt.

jno - I was in Vegas watching the Legends show and the compare came on as Elton John but the audience were not too sure who he was supposed to be , my pal didnt know so I shouted across to her "Its Reg" and after the show u get to talk to the artists and said compare realised we were Brits said the US audience took a while to guess who he was but he knew he was okay when someone shouted Reg as he knew all us Brits called him that ! I kept stum !
