steam mops

bought a black and decker steam mop yesterday to do my wooden floors..kitchen and bathroom...was using a flash mop thingy but the refills were costing a fortune ..and i was using 3 pads each time..think this may be more cost effective in the long run..got to put it all together now....anyone else have one ? have I done the right thing ?

I don't have one of those murraymints but can I borrow yours? I have just knocked a litre bottle of olive oil on to my ceramic floor............................

Bought Mrs av one of those mops that they are advertising on TV at the mo, It has got a spray thingymajig on it, she likes it, does a good job on our floors.

Tony ..that's what I was using..does a goods job but was having to shell out a fair bit on pads and fluid...the steam thing only uses water so will..hopefully...save a bit dosh in the long run !

I used two towels to mop it up, picked up all the shards of glass, washed it with bleach and then Flash and still my German Shepherd found something to lick! Now I'm worried that she may have been licking the bleach and the Flash.

Anyway, I have wooden floors as well so, I will be interested to see what people say about these staem mops.

Tilly if you have wooden floors wouldn't the oil just condition them even more?
I use oil to clean my chopping board

No ric, I have ceramic tiles on my kitchen floor and wooden floors in the rest of the rooms. The accident happened in the kitchen.

well..short answer is GREAT ...wish I had bought this ages ago..floors are gleaming..and only water used.....

Just finished steaming the downstairs floors..wood, ceramic and rubber...sooooo much easier and better..and cheaper than the flash mop...thoroughly recommend steam mop....
