Took my eye medication this morning - then realised that it had gone 4 days past the 28 days after first opening , that it should have been discarded .

Is that detrimental ?

No big deal Bazile.
I must admit to using medication quite a lot older than that., without any adverse impact
It will be fine.

When you say "took" you didn't drink it did you?.....;-)
Question Author
That's a relief .

However why do they state a date to discard after opening - is the medication less effective after a longer period than 28 days after opening or would it cause problems after a longer period than 28 days after opening .
Question Author
No , i didn't drink it sqad :-)

Although now you mention it - sometimes after instilling it into the eye , i can sometimes taste it in my throat .

Is that normal ?
Bazile yes it is normal.........it may pass down the naso-lacrimal duct into the back of the throat.....you are quite normal as is the efficacy of your eye drops.
Like when the opticia puts those yellow drops in your eyes, then you blow your nose and.....OMG
