If they are anything like the midges where I live and more so if they are Scottish ones then I recommend nothing less than a full Nuclear/Biological/ Chemical Protection suit before starting your hedge cutting...........right little bu99ers they are :-((

Prevention is better than cure.

Mark .maybe Avon would do one for the Edinburgh midge ??
The Avon Skin So Soft has long been recommended but when I looked on the Avon website I was overwhelmed with all the different scents and formulations. Does it matter which one you use?

Also with Eccles and Comm :-D
Midges are a whole different matter!!! One good reason not to live in Scotland in the summer. It was midges that were attacking the SAS.
What is summer in Scotland?
Warm rain.
Thank you MarkRae.
Though I admit I've not tried this: http://2010.midgefore....co.uk/index.php/shop
Actuall about 22 years ago we went caravanning in Scotland (near Fort William) and it was hot, hot, hot with clear blue skies for the whole time. It was like being in Greece (but there were midges)
Robinia,is the bit where you have inflammation swollen?Might be a cleg bite-pretty painful and can swell to size of an egg.I can still remember my mother slapping on hot! poultices when I got two bites on my legs.
Thought this thread was about Tony when I read the title. ;-)
Gness, did you notice my very caring comment?
I did Sibton! ;-))
Yes quinie, it's red and swollen. It's happened to me before and I've ended up on anti-biotics a couple of times. Whatever it was that bit me I hope it choked to death, I was hoping I'd be less tasty as I got older. :)
