This poor woman is literally scarred for life, her face and neck horribly disfigured, yet her so called "fiancee" will be a free man again before the end of this decade.

My faith in British justice is being severely tested! How can this be a true deterrent to any other sub human scum out there?

Looks like the key point here is that his lawyer managed to sucesfully argue that it wasn't attempted murder because of his military background.

Mitigating factors here would include the fact that it wasn't apparently pre-meditated

Looks like 7-10 years would be recommended so the judge sounds as if he's about right

Difficult to judge on what must have been quite a long case on the basis of a couple of hundred words in the Sun
