Every time i click on a file it comes up saying.


CONTROL PANEL

this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an assocation in the folder options control panel.

What is the extension of the file? (the bit after the dot) eg. document.doc or file.xls.

Right-click the file. Select properties. On the 'General' tab look for 'Opens with'. Click the 'Change' button. Select the program you want that type of file to open with. (e.g. if it's a text document you might choose 'Word'. If it's a spreadsheet you might choose Excel). You may see a box labelled 'Always use this program to open these files'. If it hasn't got a tick in it, put one in. Click 'OK'. Click 'Apply'. Click 'OK'.
