How do I get one of my pictures published?

Sorry if this is in the wrong category but I couldn't figure out which one it should go under as there is no photography?

Ok, I have had this picture that I took, hanging on my lounge wall. Everybody always comments on it when they see it, how stunning it is and I should get it published etc.

I've been thinking about it on and off for a few years and now lack of finances has led me to look into this seriously!

Could someone please advise me how I go about getting this picture published in some way? I'd really love it to become one of those posters you see in shops as you flick through the metal pages or maybe used as an advert, I don't know but something like that!

Would I need to get it copyrighted first do you know? Any other tips and directions would be greatly appreciated.

quickest way might just be to print some copies and sell them at a car boot sale or craft fair - probably with frames would be best. You could try poster-size but you'd need it to be fairly high-resolution for that.

I don't know copyright law but I suspect it would be a good idea.

If you have a local framers, they sometimes buy copies of prints to sell.

You would certainly need to get it copyrighted, but all you need to do is write (c) Lisa_Louise on the bottom - it's your propert - I don't think you have to register it anywhere (but others may know differently).

I have sold quite a few photos a local art exhibitions and local cafés both framed and unframed, Clip frames are the simplest way of framing them, if you go for proper frames you would do well to use a card mount and all the other paraphenalia of framing. I used to print mine on an A3 size printer using non fugitive printing inks. People won't pay more than £50 for A3 or £30 for A4 sizes. If you are careful with your printing and don't make too many mistakes you can expect to make about 100% profit, not counting your time.
