Help! I am at the end of the road now with my 9 month old staffy! I cant leave him for more than 5 minutes in a room without him pooing and peeing everywer ripping up fabrics and smashing ornaments! all this can happen whilst i nip to the corner shop and bak! I have had to move from my house due to the wreckages he has made and pay the cost of it! I now have the same problem at my new house even after trying out some of the advice some of u lot have offered! I need a dog trainer, does anyone know of a dog trainer in the Manchester or Bolton area please.

make sure any private trainers have the BIPDT qualification.

Thank you so much ANNLINDA! means alot at least now i have an idea of which route to go down x
But don't leave your dog in a crate for all the time you are at work, if as in your last question, you said you work full time.

A dog should not be left in a crate for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
do you take him out for exercise - and does he have any toys to play with. I found a kong filled with paste/peanut butter invaluable for one of my monsters!
i agree with pmjblue give him somthing to play with but try just leaving him for very short periods i.e. seconds then minutes and build it up slowly, I hope you get it sorted as dogs are well worth the time and effort somtimes needed.
only thing with a crate is if the dog is so destructive it may make it worse - I prefer the fabric crates, but dont think such a good idea in this case as it would just run through it! Think exercise and mental stimulation may be a better option.
when our dog Taz [ shar pei] became an absolute shar-pain, we sent him to boot camp [ dog training] we found several in the local Yellow Pages in Essex and chose one, Taz was there for 6 weeks and we were not allowed to see him until week 5 when we had lessons on how to walk him properly etc, apparently Taz barked for two weeks solid on arrival.
He came back a much better dog and did not bark anymore for the whole time we went out and did not destroy things either. It was worth the money, 6 years on we still have Taz.
The funny thing was the trainer's name was Mr Barker, when I laughed he was not amused. He said it wasnt the dogs that needed the training but the owners did.
