Nervously waiting...

Having 3 roots taken out in an hour,just waiting to go.Cannot believe how nervous I am,just the thought of the needle going in my palate...yuk.
Now it looks like rain so I will look awful even when I arrive at the dentists.Great.Drowned rat going in,hamster cheeks going out.
Please wish me luck and I will let you know how it goes.

you can get implants cheaper in countries like Hungary; but it involves going back for checkups quite alot, and I suspect travel costs would soon outweigh the savings in the dental bill.

From what I was told when I did my nursing training,all four quadrants of the mouth should not be numbed up at the same time,now I don't know if the same applies today,but to get a lot of implants done,you would have to be knocked out properly.
Also as implants take at least two visits just to get them, thats a couple of holidays a year at least.There would also be aftercare,and I would not like to see what happened if anything went wrong,where do you stand with any comeback?
Regarding the re implantation of teeth,I only saw this once in a child and it involved a lot of tooth splints and very careful eating.I suppose the main factor is why the teeth are unstable in the first place.
Well I don't know where that rant came from,must have something to do with all the painkillers.At least it took my mind off the pain for a while.

I'm glad that your ordeal is over ayabrea. I still have until two this afternoon and then the dentist is going to yank my tooth out.

I had a crown but it fell out and he offered to do root canal treatment. But I am a diabetic (prone to infection problems) and a pessimist so I decided to get the rest of the tooth out and get it over with.

I am not looking forward to it.

How did it go wolf?Hope you are OK.Just think,tomorrow you have the salt mouthwashes to look forward to!!
The swelling is not as bad as I thought it would be,my palate is worst at the mo.Cannot eat things that need chewing much so making a shepherds pie for tea.

ayabrea and tinks - it was not a pleasant experience. I had to get a filling in an adjoining tooth too and he did the filling first. He yanked away at my tooth for ages and kept telling me that we were "Nearly there". Eventually he had to remove the filling as it was trapping the root of the one he was pulling on.

We got there in the end and it is sore - but not at all helped by my sinuses being blocked (that makes all my teeth hurt). I asked for the root/tooth so that I could put it away to freak my brother out when he clears the house out after my demise. :-)

aya - you must be in a worse state as you had a few out. My mouth is still a bit numb so I don't know how it is going to feel tomorrow. I'm 49 next month - is this tooth extraction the beginning of the end ??????
