how much more do they expect us to take.just heard on news, electricity prices rising by 9% .already dear enough i think.we are being hit from every direction.if a had the money i'd be well away from here.
I change my supplier every year but it can be a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire. You need to shop around but also need some assurances that your great deal won't also suffer from a price increase in 3-6 months time. The companies use obfuscation to make comparisons difficult and the regulator is toothless.
Having said that, energy prices world wide or on an upward trend so I can only foresee further increases
news; business & finance or possibly travel, all decent categories that may provide a serious response, this is CB so basically, use less if possible, change your providor for a better deal, or pay the new rate. : )
I just signed on with them so I think I am tied for at least a year. Oh well, I expect all the others will put their prices up too. Not much we can do about it, unfortunately except try not to use electricity and gas.
Starbuckone- for newish customers there is usually an opt out facility where you have up to so many days /weeks to accept or reject a change in the rate that enticed you to join and you have the option to leave without penalty if you wish
MrAsk is moaning about the petrol going up again. Everything is so much dearer in the shops, and with the Gas/Electricity suppliers it's swings and roundabouts. We are feeling the pinch now.
I have just fixed my gas and electricity for the next two winters with EDF, as recommended by Martin Lewis.
And I'll give £30 cash back for using one of the comparison companies.
My gas and electric is £70 per month. Not too shabby, really
okay okay zacs!! i'd hopefully go to somewhere with a better climate and a bit cheaper.not sure where exactly/but have seen programmes about houses in florida.for less than mine is worth,i could have a bigger house WITH a swimming pool.AND it's cheaper than living here.
If there was any person I envied in my life it was a Scotsman I knew about thirty years ago who was a warehouse worker.
He inherited an island off the Scottish coast which had just three crofts on it. One was a ruin, the other was a holiday croft from which he had an income, the third he was going to live in. He had a smallholding, was self sufficient and used a generator for power. No rates, no electrics no gas. Just him and his animals.
Perfick.
