I'm about to explode. I need to vent.
I've effin had it! Work is a complete sh1te and amongst other things I'm literally going mad.
Someone just said to me, 'what the worst that could happen' (trying to make me feel better, it didn't work). My response was 'yeah' but what I really wanted to say is 'how about you ask that to the guys I've got working in Dublin who I can't afford to put on a flight home tomorrow or the ones who are going on a flight there tomorrow but I can't afford to book their hotel, or the companies who are now sending us LBA's because we're not getting paid quickly enough so I can't pay any bills, or that fact that if I don't keep this crap going then I'll eventually watch my own brother and a guy I consider a friend lose everything (they run the business)'. Right now I feel like walking out of the office, packing a bag, going to the airport and getting on the next plane to anywhere so I don't have to deal with a Sugar job and a.holes who persist on making my personal life miserable. Oh, except I can't because I didn't get paid in time due to the company having no sodding money.
Is there some sort of time scale on the good things they keep telling us about for for those of us who are waiting?

When you're a small business you can deal with all aspects of the business on a daily basis. Small businesses tend not to have departments. Departments slow the processes down.
I don't think that they do it on purpose, as such, but when you complain the attitude tends to be 'you need us more than we need you'

That's a little unfair on all multinationals. Those like Exxon and Shell actually target accounts payable to get the accounts owing settled in x days - they realise that, apart from their reputation, not paying bills costs them in having to to take on extra staff. Exxon were incredibly strict about this - I have also found Cargill to be superb payers and have never had to wait beyond two weeks from submitting an invoice to being paid.
Hi Evian. Like other Abers I fully sympathise with your predicament.
I had my own business in the eighties and had a contract supplying goods to a county council on condition they paid within 30 days of invoice. I usually had to wait up to 3 months and eventually went broke. If anything it was a relief when I finally found all the stress was gone.
I just hope something positive can come out of all this mess for you and the rest of the employees.

Well, I managed to break my own rule of never let your boss catch you crying. They know the position the company is in but there isn't much they can do either.
Getting labour is no problem for us, we have people queuing to work for us and likewise getting work isn't much trouble eithe because the firm has an excellent reputation, is just trying to pay for all that labour at least 90 days before we see any of it (not our choice) where it all starts to fall apart.
Sorry for the rant, just fed up with this rubbish every day for as long as I can remember now and with other non work stuff on top it all got a bit much today. Funny thing is my doctor is actively encouraging me to sign off sick but she doesn't seem to get that the time jm not there there problems will just be building up for my return and I'd spend the whole time worrying.
Gonna have a cup of tea. That fixes everything right!
