Cancelling Sky

Have any of you ever tried to get shot of this incubus? If so, how do you do it? The website makes every effort to stop you.

You ring up and say you want to cancel.

They pass you on to the department for stopping customers leaving, who start offering you discounts off the next three or six months.

You cave in, and carry on subscribing.
Three or six months later you say you really are going, and they give up.

Hopkirk, that is why I don't want to ring them. They can always deny they ever heard from me. But they can't do that if it's all online or paper.

I pretty much agree with Hopkirk.

I tried it on once telling them I wasn't sure I could afford it as I was out of work and could they help me or I might have to cancel. They reduced my Sky Tv subscription by 50% for 6 months to give me chance to get back on my feet. It was a good result.

Do you have to give any notice under your contract?

Factor30, no. I've been a Sky customer for 15 years.

I phoned them told them I had a better offer with virgin they started offering me this that and the other so I told them I was fed up when we have a bit of rain or a breeze blows the dish we lose the picture most annoying when you are in the middle of a good movie.. any way they gave up in the end and I left sky and im glad I did as so far had no problems with virgin media
