train farers

Been trying to work out the cost of a three month ticket, return from teddington to tower hill, as our son has just moved to teddington and needs to cycle to work so that he can afford the mortgage. we regard cycling in London as very dangerous, plus its an hour and half cycle ride, so want to buy him a ticket as a house warming present, but, i have tried using google etc. and nothing seems to want to play ball. does anyone do a similar journey, or do you think an hour and a half cycling to work, and then hour and a half back is good idea? does anyone know how to get the train information? I know this is not really a chatterbank question, but don't think the travel topic will have many customers.
thanks, Percy.

Zone 1-6 travel card is £205 per month. I think Teddington is zone 6 and towerhill is zone 1. This will help you work it out.
