Well I say I struggled with 14 but what I should have said was I struggled with them all. I just got to 14 before I felt it was best to stop before I died.
Don't worry, just do it regularly and you'll be grand. When I first started swimming regularly (a little while ago), I struggled with fifteen, by the end of a couple of months I could easily do 50 in under an hour. Now if I went back to doing it regularly again I reckon I'd struggle to do ten initally but I know with regularity it'd come back. Don't be despondent :c)
I'm in the same league as BOO. I am meant to be swimming for health reasons and I hate it!! I am one of those that can't stand getting my face under the water so I do a sedate sort of breast stroke across a width. I just don't like being in water - I don't even like getting in a bath!!
I think 10 would be me aiming high, I'd worry my hip was going to pop out! I'm an 80 year old trapped in a 33 year olds body.... actually a fit 80 year old would put me to shame.... <sigh>
Chuck, your comment about going slowly made me laugh. Only because when I was overtaken by a floating pair of goggles I realised just how slow I am. In fairness I haven't done any proper swimming since I left middle school but I'm going to try and keep it up as I've really enjoyed it the past few times.
