I think impending divorce statistics rise at Christmas too.
I cancelled it long ago, but nobody noticed
Please don't cancel it. It's my favourite day of the year. :(
I have reached the stage whereby I now suffer Christmas as a pain in the arse. No doubt it's an age related problem for which even Sqad may be unable to suggest a medication.

Perhaps the Ed should hold a poll on this one. It would be far more interesting than the current poll.:-

Ron.
In non-financial terms it would suit me as I hate having to thing of things to buy and nice things to say when I receive things I don't want.

But as this is in Business and Finance I am wondering in what way you think it would help, Brian?

I would agree that at a micro-level it would help poorer families in the short term but I can't see how it would help the economy.
I try to cancel it every year but my family won't let me :(
"They are closing a pub near where I live. I can not understand why. I have never been in it. "

Nobody else get the irony in that statement? LOL

Anyhoo- get your mitts off Christmas! I love it!
Why is this in business and finance?
one of my main jobs next week is unpacking and sorting into drops the single christmas cards, calendars are already out on sale, boxed cards arrive week after next, lovely, keeps us in jobs does christmas, bring it on
Yes, I think Brimoan meant it- he has a great sense of humour- very dry.
Although I have indicated that Christmas gives me a pain in the posterior, I still think it's lovely time for children whose parents can afford it. Tragedy is that there is a lot of poverty and some folk are virtually forced into debt to ensure their children do not miss out.

Has everyone forgotten the real meaning of christmas? No I am not a religeous nut. But christmas is for giving what you can afford, not keeping up with the Jones's so to speak.
