Calf contusion...further problems
3 Answers
Last Monday I played football and was 'kneed' in my calf muscle.
After the game the calf muscle naturally reacted and became painful and swollen.
I elevated and placed ice packs on it with a compression bandage to prevent further swelling.
Yesterday, I have now noticed that my foot/ankle has swollen with purple/blue bruising....and yet my ankle is injury free and fully mobile.
Any suggestions please?

For future reference for AnswerBank users who may need to know........ .I went to the Doctors where he said I have torn muscle tissue and the swelling around the whole of the foot and ankle is due to the body reacting to the calf injury by brusing. The bruising keeps going to the point where the leg can't fit any more in so it's finds it...

The bruising keeps going to the point where the leg can't fit any more in so it's finds it next best place...and due to gravity the bruise travels downwards thus to the ankle.
Doc says it's nothing to worry about, the bruise will reduce, keep the leg mobile and return to football when you feel fit enough.
Still blo*dy though!!
