Wonder why she couldn't deliver the one sentence to formally open the games from the comfort of her armchair in Buckingham Palace and shown on screen in the stadium, I'm sure nobody would have minded. She is amazing to have the strength to do these things, hope it doesn't affect her health.
i hope that the style of coverage of the opening ceremony isn't going to be continued for the events themselves -

yes, ad breaks are irritating, but as said that is to be expected, aunty Beeb got this one wrong, they should have been champing at the bit for the rights, and all the website i have looked at seems to be only from their point of view, as to why they didn't get the bid. Expect that the presenters will do a good job. Like Clare Balding and the disabled commentators Tanni Grey Thompson, will give us experienced commentary, unlike some of the twerps who commentated for the main games.
