Headache, neck hurts etc. I always feel guilty when I ring up and tell my employers that I won't be in. I feel they think being off with a cold is a bit flaky. I remember when colds were just a stuffy nose and runny eyes, these days it knocks you for six!

Don't think I'm well enough to go in tomorrow either and I feel guilty already.

Am I being flaky?

If you went to work would you be able to do whatever you are supposed to do? Is there a risk to others if you go in (ie in a hospital)?

I think that we tend to under-rate how awful a cold can make us feel and nobody ever has sympathy for you. I always feel like I am at death's door.
good afternoon icemaiden.

no, you are not being flakey.
first of all - a bad cold has the effect you describe, to the point where you have no strength to do anything..certainly your work would suffer.
secondly - there is a danger of transmitting it to your work mates -- something you do not want to be responsible for.

take it easy, with lots of rest, and get well soon.

My work is quite physical, I probably would try and do it, and in the process, feel a lot worse. Yes your right wolf, colds are under-rated.

Hi excel. Don't think my work colleagues would appreciate me giving them this cold. So on that basis, yes I should stay at home. Thankyou.
I hate it when people come to work and cough and sneeze all over the place. Stay home and keep it to yourself.
