Good Morning from Cornwall !

Having a few days here, near Lands End in the caravan. Probably last time this summer.

Just seen a fabulous sunrise. Another beautiful day in the offing, just like yesterday.

Far be it for me to agree with anything our current Prime Minister thinks or says but Cornwall really is the best. I just wish I could live here, instead of grey, rainy old South Wales !

Cornwall is beautiful mikey, we love it and used to go most years from our home in the East Midlands in our touring caravan. Now sadly we have to consider the very high fuel costs ............ plus the fact we never were very lucky with the weather. Several years ago whilst staying near Lands End we visited Tresco, a special trip via helicopter from Penzance, a present from my Mum - it was fantastic and the abbey gardens were amazing. Have a lovely holiday! Which site are you staying on? We usually stayed on Wayfarers,at St Hilary and River Valley at Relubbus.

I am staying in St Buryan, which is just a couple of miles away from Portcurno. Nice site...not too big and very friendly. I have been staying here since I first came down to Cornwall in 1996.

I have been on the helicopter to Tresco and St Marys a few times, although not for a while as I now have a dog. I did try the trip on the Scillonian once but the voyage was so awful and rough, I vowed never again !

However, from this November the helicopter will be no more, as BIH who run the service have sold the ground that the Heliport is on to Sainsburys.

Just what Penzance needs....another fecking supermarket alongside Tesco, Morrison, Co-op, and Lidl !

My bro had a very sensible idea - why don't they build the helipad on the roof of the supermarket........convenient for the shopping for those Scillonians.

And the Gurnards Head - I haven't been there in years but a friend who loves her gourmet eating, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Saddened to read there will be no more helicopter trips to St Marys. What a shame, will they build a heliport somewhere else? The flight really was the highlight of our holiday, I get very cross when huge supermarkets take away the very places that makes a town worth visiting. As you say there is a massive Tesco nearby .............
