I got a text this morning that read "Being an Arsenal fan on transfer deadline day must be a bit like being a Muslim kid on Christmas Day".

On the other hand perhaps Arsenal did their shopping early this year. 'Shopping' is the great British obsession.

We'll see? Arsenal wil be fourth at best, and that's from a man who supports a lower league English team, not ManUre, Citeh or Chelski.

Arsenal may finish bottom for all I know but I am amused at the obsession nowadays with transfer deadline day. A trolleyful of expensive novelties purchased late on Christmas Eve is not necessarily the passport to a merry Xmas and happy new year, as QPR for example are likely to find out :-)

It is not Christmas Eve old chum, it's the start of a new season. Point largely taken, although one or two teams will profit from a very astute signing.
