.......I would like to add, try to avoid finding out what political party your 'idols' support. Clint Eastwood supporting Mitt Romney has disappointed me a tad. Have any of the famous people that you admire/admired ever disappointed you?

I never liked Jason Donovan particularly but after meeting him I like him even less. Ardal O'Hanlon is lovely and seems very shy. My friend regularly served Emma Thompson in Woolworths and said you couldn't meet a nicer lady. I met a lot of politicians when I was younger but I didn't have a clue who they were. They were all pretty nice to me but I was only about 7....
hc4361: re actors etc hating what made them famous. Leonard Nimoy springs to mind. The title of his first autobiography was 'I Am Not Spock'. He hated being known, chiefly, as Spock. He later 'matured' and came to look at Spock affectionately and began to appreciate the many gifts that the role had given him. His next autobiography was entitled 'I Am Spock'.
Martin Shaw (The Professionals) has, apparently, always hated references to his role as Doyle. I think he's a very good actor, but he needs to stop being so precious. I think that if I ever met him I would be tempted to say 'Wow! Hi! I can't wait to tell my family that I met Bodie'. A double whammy, so to speak.
