I'm caring for someone who has become very anxious. She won't be left alone and also has a growing problem with mobility which means we both are virtual prisoners in our own home.
I'm exhausted, stressed, and feeling very near the end of my tether. What to do?
Oh Sandy....so sorry. My first port of call was Mum`s GP without her. This triggered lots of help. You may of course have done this. Age Concern gave us advice too.
Have you tried either of these? x
sorry you are in this situation, it must be horrible. have you tried her doctor? she should be able to get medication for her anxiety. i hope you get help from LoftyLottie's link.
Years ago I used to do a bit of part time work for Crossroads and then I used them when I cared for my mother. Their carers came in a couple of times a week for a few hours and I could go out. It made so much difference and Mum appreciated it too/
all of the above...when I was full time carer for FIL with Alzheimers the GP made a lot of help available to me if I wanted..through social services and externally funded groupd like crossroads..you only have to ask ..you MUST consider your own health too !!
