Max ... Decent Or Rotter?

When Max Bygraves died, his friends all said what a lovely guy he was.

Now the papers say he was an unpleasant bully, horrid to people he worked with, had a string of secret affairs, a number of illegitimate children whom he kept secret from his long suffering wife, and he justified his excesses by saying ... I see life like a self service buffet, and you have to help yourself.

So was he decent? or a bit of a rotter?

not a good time to be illegitimate, and he knew full well what he was doing. I know it takes two to tango, but the girls obviously fared badly, and openly dismissing your child seems quite horrible.

Max one one of the highest paid entertainers in Britain, how do you think he could afford to change his Rolls Royce every year, and buy nice homes, etc.
Records, shows, TV, was a master of the middle of the road type entertainment.

Max Bygraves along with Max Boyce, Cliff Addams (sing something simple), Val Doomican, Ken Dodd (when he sings) and many more singers that sing middle of the road clap-trap are the sperms of the devil. Oh, I forgot to mention The Black & white Minstrels & Des O'Connor.

leave Ken Dodd out of that equation, he is still the funniest man i ever had the pleasure to see on stage.
