Went to Book Group this morning at a friend's house. It is on a street with a lot of houses of same design with vertical blinds in the window. I was late, so saw the parked cars, parked and ran to the house and rang the bell. A strange lady answered and I thought it was a new member. she asked my name and as I looked around the room I realised I knew no-one.
"I think I may be in the wrong house." said I. I am looking for the Book Group- turns out I was two houses away and they were having a prayer meeting!
They were very nice and we all had a good laugh about it! Daren't tell OH though as I will never live it down!

Parked in a layby opposite the row of little cottages opened the door and began running back and forwards, heads down, unloading the car. All finished, I shut the door and called for OH....silence.....not much luggage in the hall.
I found him next door, luggage in their hall, filing their kettle. He was as oblivious to the family watching TV in the sitting room as they were to him in their kitchen.

Can almost beat that .... one cold Winter's night, door bell rang. Hubby and I both at the door, opened it and in the darkness made out two grotesque figures (in fancy dress) laughing at our amazement - speaks one "Hiya, don't we look good, don't you recognise us?" Me - "Er no, who are you?" Them - "O come on, don't be daft, let us in, its freezing out here" Still much laughing and teasing us to come in. "Is so-and-so here yet?" Suddenly second figure glances at house number - hand over mouth, gasps "O good grief, we are at the wrong house, so sorry!!!" Exit two embarrassed people, us laughing on doorstep ................ never did find out where the party was held!
