Hi

What uses more energy, electric shower on 3 times a day for about 15 mins a time or an old washing machine used 4 times a week? I know I could work it out but just want an opinion as to why our electricity/gas bills are so high compared to our neighbours? We've done the usual of changing light bulbs, switching off items on standby, even the blinking microwave!

Many thanks

Assume shower = 10kW then 45min/day = 7.5kWh @ 15p each = £1.12/day.
