Someone has dumped an untaxed vehicle on my land,do I report this to the police,or should I inform the D.V.L.A. ?

IIRC its the local authority who have the duty of removal.
The local authority certainly won't remove it as it is on private land and not their problem.
If at all possible, surreptitiously get it on to public land then inform the DVLA.
See if you can find out who the keeper is and return it to them
Return it to them? How?
Or, see if the your scrapyard is interested in it as a freebie.
Check with the police that it hasn't been reported stolen.
Check on the DVLA web site to see if it is SORN . The site is the same one you use to check if a car is taxed. If it is SORN there is very little you can do apart from trying to find the owner and asking him to remove it.
I would put a large notice on it saying that unless it is removed within 14 days you are going to tow it away and scrap it.
As hc4361 says get it onto a public road and local authority should soon remove it. Easiest way out!
