Why, when pouring into a cup, does hot water sound different from cold??

Cold water is heavier than hot what water, and is more viscous. Liquids with different properties will make different sounds when they hit something else.

I think it's the sound of the cup going "ouch, ouch, ouch, that's hot!"
In this world of wonder we live in there really is no excuse for boredom.
