I didn't mean to sound as if I was having a go, it just seemed strange. However, thinking about it it could be that he posted again under the correct category "Quizzes & Puzzles" because he posted it (and received answers) under "Society & Culture".

No he wasn't in either of those, but he (Will Hay) did play a teacher in "Boys will be boys" (I think!).

I think it's meant to be Will Hay, who portrayed a schoolmaster in late 30s/early 40s comedy films.
