nero and vcd prob

i'm trying to put some pics and an mpeg on a cd so it can be viewed on dvd players. wanted to burn a vcd, as i have before but now it doesn't work. nero reckons burn was successful but the rewriter doesn't even make a noise and it's light doesn't come on. the rewriter can read cd's and will burn cds from musicmatch though. any ideas?

is your dvd player made to do this otherwise get you cd burner checked out it might be fulty

well it managed to burn a vcd before. burning audio or data cds are no prob either. very odd!
