Anti-malware scan

I recently carried out a Malwarebytes, anti-malware full scan.

When it was completed it showed that I had two Viruses which I then removed, but underneath this message panel was another stating that no malicious items were detected.

How come the two contradictions?

Sounds odd. I suggest you do another scan and see what happens and/or considering the vital importance of internet security, you could 'phone the UK advisors - at a cost on your phone bill - but worth it even to test their service. If latter is not available (be suspicious) OR if they keep you hanging on-and-on for a ridiculous length of time, OR if they don't speak good engish consider ditching them. "Malwarebytes"? Never heard of them -best to use one of the big-3 independent top-guns. I've tried the three and one slowed up the PC excessively. Also, (my) PC World Store no longer sell McAfee nor upgrades - that used to be my choice but now for my first choice please see below.
If you decide change is best, I recommend Kaspersky Pure: PC World or www.kaspersky.co.uk. Best for quality and very reasonable price. Covers EVERY aspect of security. If changing you will have to uninstall your "safety" softftware but I think that Kaspersky will do that for you on loading. Never use two security products on same PC!

solvitquick, just because you have never heard of Malwarebytes that does not mean it is not reputable. Many of us (including the techies) are very happy with it. As for the 'never use two security products' that only applies to anti virus and firewall, not anti malware.

daffy....I am surprised that anyone such as solvit who visits the 'Technology section of AB has never heard of Malwarebytes. The Techies are always suggesting that folk download the free version, along with MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials.)

Personally AOG, I wouldn't be too bothered about the message which you had, after having removed what was believed to have been a virus. I think it may have been something as suggested by fender62.

See if a similar message appears in the future and then post again on the matter.

Thanks all you folks for reassuring to AOG re: "Malwarebytes" and for furthering MY education - learning's one of the reasons for me joining AB's great site.
Nope, never heard of it and don't need it because I prefer to use an overall protection package which also includes an anti-malware element and alerts me instantly of possible malware - no need to launch scan - hence my advice against dual security systems. Sorry AOG but never realised you could run "Malwarebytes" as well as your anti-virus, firewall etc. protection. I admit to only using Microsoft's minimal services. My ISP and their e-mail service etc., are semi-independent and separate from my protection. In my ignorance of AOG's software I thought he just possibly had signed up to a dubious pop-up or cold-caller (lol...I think). Anyway I am a cynic, No matter who's offering it I never accept "freebies" offered to me without my first taking the initiative - like joining AB.
Very grateful to all for relaxing advice to AOG and teaching me somethings extra.

Solvi....I assume you are paying to protect your Computer against nasties, whereas a lot of folk on AB feel that they are adequately safeguarded on a home computer, without having to fork-out a single penny. Just because one is able to get something for nothing doesn't mean that it is useless; especially if it is from reputable organisations .
